Clawford Lakes Brings a Slice of California to Devon

New pictures have been released of the newly refurbished Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa in Devon. Set across 80-acres, the resort is set to be one of the most desirable leisure locations in the UK and plans to open for its first guests in Autumn 2021.

The exclusive Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa will be home to a selection of high-end holiday accommodation, carefully nestled around its 17 lakes to create a beautiful escape in the country.

Accommodation types include self-catering lodges, complete with private hot tubs, floating lodges which are built right over the lakes with a private floating terrace, angling pods and special unique luxury cocoons.

The luxury cocoons boast an “exclusive-to-the-UK design”, with the only others currently located in Big Sur, California and Auckland, New Zealand, provided by manufacturer Autonomous Tents. The cocoons are built from a tensile skin and feature a wooden frame design at one end with huge floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a breath-taking view over the lake. They come complete with all home comforts, including a bathroom and equipped cooking facilities.

We wanted to offer a new benchmark of quality for Devon’s visitors and holiday home owners. By being incredibly sensitive to the beautiful natural site we have, respecting the habitats of the wildlife and supporting the local community, we’ve created a holiday destination that rivals the fashionable outdoor getaways typically seen outside the UK.

On-site facilities and activities include:

  • A Honka-built swimming pool and spa facility, The Lake Spa, complete with sauna, treatment rooms and infinity pool right on the lakeside.
  • Lakeside activities including fishing, paddle boarding, cycling, leisure walks and bushcraft activities, available from Spring 2022.
  • A quality restaurant and bar, providing a broad menu created using local produce.

The holiday park is located 22 miles north of Dartmoor National Park, and a 30-minute drive from Cornwall’s north coast, making it a perfect base for those wanting to explore Devon, as well as Bude, Padstow and St. Ives.

Clawford Lakes Resort and Spa is all about connecting with the outdoors, taking time to take a breath and enjoy the natural world, whilst enjoying stunning well-designed accommodation and facilities that really make the most of the views surrounding you.

Whilst some of Clawford Lakes’ accommodation is available for short holiday rentals, the luxury lodges with hot tubs are also available for purchase. The lodges will be on sale as pre-furnished holiday homes available to use year-round for personal use, as well as offering the opportunity for owners to generate an income from letting out their lodge.
