Academy Museum and UK Movie Events

Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, LA

Opening on 30th September 2021, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures aims to be the worlds premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies.

The Academy Museum will offer unique exhibitions that illuminate the fascinating world of cinema. They will be immersive and dynamic and will tell the many stories of the movies (their art, technology, artists, history, and social impact) through a variety of diverse and engaging voices.

Exhibitions include Stories of Cinema, a multi-floor exhibition that connects audiences to celebratory, complex, diverse, and international stories of the people who make motion pictures and the artworks they create. The Oscars® Experience, an immersive environment that simulates the experience of walking onto the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and accepting an Oscar. Path to Cinema: Highlights from the Richard Balzer Collection will explore how the cinematic experience we know today evolved.

If you are unable to make it to Los Angeles this Autumn for the opening, then there are plenty of movie-inspired activities closer to home in the UK, which will make it feel like you have jetted off to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

You can secure your tickets for The Cinema Museums reopening (TBA) party. All you have to do is make a donation of £75 to their charity and they will be in touch to give you a VIP ticket for two people to attend the grand reopening bash (T&Cs apply).
